National Grandparents Day

Grandparents are really loved by all children. Probably the warmest childhood memories of every person are associated with grandparents. Therefore, it’s no wonder that in 1978 the-then President Carter initiated the celebration of the National Grandparents Day by signing a special document.

The day is celebrated in September on the first Sunday after the celebration of the Labor Day. This special day is aimed to recognize the important role grandparents play in everyone’s lives: what precious advice they give, what guidance they provide, and how caring they are for their grandchildren.

The special love of grandparents

Grandparents love greatly differs from the love given to children by parents. With the benefit of hindsight, grandparents know what is better for the grandchildren. As a rule, grandparents are less strict to their grandchildren than parents. They know how quickly children grow up and they realize that they should have the time for crazy moments and naughtiness.

Besides, grandparents greatly help families of their children: they can support them financially and in terms of bringing up children. Since moms and dads are always working, grandparents are always there to help with the offsprings. It might come as a surprise for you, but according to interviews conducted with people who are already grandparents, the state of being a grandparent is the most satisfying one that they have experienced in their whole lives.

Thus, National Grandparents Day is a perfect chance for all families to thank grandparents for being always there to help. Do not forget to visit your grandparents and thank them for turning each moment of your childhood into a magical one.
